Is moulding the right process?

If you need hundreds of thousands of identical plastic parts, moulding often wins. If you need fifty complex parts next month, CNC or additive may be better.

When unsure, ask for indicative economics at your real volumes — not catalogue fantasy volumes.

Tooling basics that affect price

Soft tools can be faster/cheaper for lower volumes; hard tools last longer for higher volumes. Hot runners, side actions, and texture all add cost.

Clarify ownership, storage, maintenance, and what happens if you move production later.

Samples and design changes

Expect iterative samples. Agree how many revision rounds are included and how steel changes are priced after approval.
