Payment terms

Common manufacturing payment terms (deposits, balance on delivery, net terms), what they signal, and what brands should negotiate.

What they are

Payment terms define when money moves: commonly a deposit to start (often covering materials or tooling), with the balance before dispatch or on agreed credit terms for established relationships.

Negotiating sensibly

New relationships usually start deposit-heavy in both directions of caution. Tie payments to verifiable events — sample approval, inspection pass, dispatch — rather than calendar dates alone. Combinate does not process payments between parties; terms are agreed directly.
