What it is
A tech pack (technical package) is a document set that tells a factory how to make a garment or soft good: measurements, construction details, materials, trims, labelling, and often colour standards and points of measurement.
It is the operational bridge between design intent and repeatable production.
Why factories push back without one
Without a tech pack, many details live in messages and assumptions. That increases mistakes, rework, and disputes. If you are early-stage, say so—and aim for a minimum viable spec that still covers the non-negotiables (sizing, fabric, seams, labelling).
