Incoterms

What Incoterms are in manufacturing logistics, why delivery terms belong in quotes, and what UK brands should clarify with factories.

What they are

Incoterms are standardised trade terms that define where delivery responsibility and risk transfer between seller and buyer (for example EXW, FCA, DAP). They matter even for domestic UK moves when freight and handover points are unclear.

In RFQs

Ask whether a price is ex-works or delivered, who books the courier, and whether packing for transit is included. Two unit prices are not comparable under different delivery assumptions.
