What it is
A CMM (coordinate measuring machine) measures the geometry of a part with high accuracy, often used to verify critical dimensions against a drawing or CAD model.
When it shows up in quotes
If your part has tight tolerances, ask whether dimensional inspection is included, what sampling plan applies, and whether you will receive reports. Not every job needs full CMM on every unit — agree the plan in the RFQ.
