What it is
Bleed is artwork extended beyond the final trim edge (commonly ~3mm) so that tiny cutting variations never leave unprinted slivers at the edge.
Practical note
Artwork supplied without bleed usually bounces back for rework, delaying label and packaging runs. Ask your printer for a template with trim, bleed, and safe areas before finalising artwork.
